The 278 images in this slideshow are selected from the extant collection of over 11,000 35mm color slides photographed by Ad Reinhardt. A large proportion were made in the course of extensive travel, including trips to Spain in July 1952, May 1954, June 1960, and a brief stopover on July 11, 1967. Each of these selected slides were labeled by Reinhardt with Spanish place names, artists, and landmarks, and each image lists the collection number and label notes in a caption at the bottom. These label notes have been lightly edited to correct proper names and unintentional misspellings. The sequence does not necessarily reflect Reinhardt's choices or intentions, and are presented in the order in which they are currently housed.
